Character Information
*Character Name: Jazz
*Character Canon: Transformers: Animated
*Age: He was alive during the war so possibly several millennia old
*Race: Cybertronian
*Timeline/Pull Point: Just after Endgame, Part 2
*History: tfwiki.net/wiki/Jazz_%28Animated%29
*Personality:
Jazz is practically the definition of laid back. He is definitely a mech dead set on having a good time, no matter the circumstances. He follows the rules to a point, knowing when some rules have to be broken, even if he is a bit reluctant to disobey them. Despite holding a high position in the Elite Guard, Jazz doesn’t let the pressure of protocol and rank get to his head. He treats his fellow soldiers with respect and encouragement. He doesn’t judge a book by its cover, giving anyone, organic or Cybertronian, the benefit of the doubt. To Jazz, no one is a stranger; just a pending friend request. His trust is easily placed, but don't take him as naive. He can tell a friend from a foe. It is suggested that he has been around for a long time and has seen enough to know that ‘watching your back’ is more than just friendly advice.
Jazz's past is fairly hazy; other than his Cyber-Ninja training at Yoketron's dojo during the war, presumably joining the Elite Guard upon completion of said training. Yoketron had a bust of Jazz in the dojo, showing that not only did he complete his training, but he evidently excelled at it.
For his time on Earth, Jazz shows to be an independent spirit. From his choice of alt mode down to his Earth-like slang, he shows that he’s more of a lover than a fighter. Although, that won’t stop him from kicking some serious aft if need be. Clearly, Jazz is a social mech who tries to keep everyone on the same level. This shows when Sentinel Prime, his ‘best friend’, continues to provoke Optimus Prime into arguments. Jazz instantly tries to break it up, knowing they have more important matters to deal with. Since these arguments happen quite often, Jazz has taken it upon himself to be ground control; making sure to settle affairs as soon as they come to play.
He loves learning and Earth's culture intrigues and excites him; proving him to be quite adaptable. As time goes on, he admits that he finds humans similar to Cybertronians, knowing they are quite alike in several aspects. His love of learning shows when he begins to train Prowl, asking questions and seeing the humans in a new light. Even after abandoning his post on (a corrupt) Cybertron, he still enjoys the small things in life. Jazz promises to help Team Prime in any way he can; Earths many wonders giving him hope for an end to the war and a new start in life.
*Powers/Abilities: A skilled Cyber-Ninja with a pair of nunchaku. He may be advanced in his training but his time within the Elite Guard may have dampened his skills somewhat. This is mostly likely from desk work and following Elite protocol. He is quite large and can transform into a car/Porsche.
*Inventory: His headphones, although they are part of his helm, contain a wide variety of music. He also carries his nunchaku in his knee holders.
*Starting Polarity: Nexus Prime
*First Person Sample:
[The video flickers to life showing the faceplates of a grinning black and white mech. Albeit, a wary one.]
Alright, so apparently I’m not in Kansas anymore!
[He laughs at his own joke, clearly he’s not as worried as he should be.]
Is there any bot around that can lend a mech a hand? I ain’t digging this new scene without some backup.
….although this place is pretty cool. Especially with-
[He cuts himself off, shaking his helm to keep on track. He can’t lose his focus until he finds his crew. If they’re even there.]
Yo, Optimus? Bulkhead? Ratchet? Any of you bots out there? Frag, I’d even settle for the twins and Sentinel.
[And now he feels like reminiscing about his old team. Man, did they have some good times!]
Can anyone answer? Any mech, femme, or life out there-
[His visor brightens as he tilts his helm to the left, grinning in amusement.]
Well, besides the bots I woke up to, that is.
This place is on a whole other level! A new scene and everything! Ya feel me?
[He continues to grin, shifting his weight from ped to ped.]
Ah well, I’ve said all I needed to. If anyone is digging this frequency, give a mech a call! Jazz, Third in Command of the Elite Guard, out!
[He shuts the video off, feeling at ease with his introduction. He hoped someone would get back to him soon, but for now he had a new planet to explore! Solid.]
*Third Person Sample:
Jazz onlined with a jolt. He looked around his new surroundings wildly, realizing they were surprisingly familiar. Rubbing his helm, he processed what he was seeing. "Where in the Pit am I?" Pulling himself to his feet, he stared at the glow on his armor and realized it was coming from above.
“….alright, I’ve seen some funky slag in my time but that takes the energon goodies.”
The glowing aura shone in contrast with the moons, giving the landscape an ethereal, haunted look. Jazz couldn’t quite place it, but there was a vast emptiness of it all. The lands, rocky-looking structures, not a living being in sight… It was almost as if this place was uninhabited.
Or the cyber ninja could just admit he was lost and do something about it.
….
Nah!
With a grin, Jazz chose not to panic and decided to look around. Hopefully, he could find some assistance and- Oh! His comlink! Maybe someone in close range could lend him a servo.
Reaching up to his left audio, he clicked on his comlink. “Hey, anybody out th-”
“ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTBKZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTT-” He promptly clicked it off with a tight-lipped expression.
Well, that wasn’t good. Guess he’ll have to go exploring after all! Might as well do something active instead of waiting around for something to happen. Which by the looks of the lifeless area around him, wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.
Using his ninja training, he flash stepped down the sharp, rock-like incline. He reached the bottom in a matter of seconds, slowing to a light jog as he made his way across the landscape. Jazz hoped he could find someone, whether they were organic or robotic, in this strange place.
Well, he considered it strange. He kept getting this weird vibe that he’d seen this place before. As freaky as it sounded, this place reminded him of Cybertron, but with less cities and more mysteries.
And let it be said that Jazz was one curious mech.
Slowing to a walk, the cyber ninja couldn’t help but sigh, “Man, I wonder how I even ended up in a place like this. It’s on a whole other level!”
The last memory he could bring up in his processor was landing on Cybertron; along with the Earth Autobots and Megatron as their prisoner. Jazz frowned, unable to extinguish his sudden bad mood. Finally, back home with the Allspark and a possible end to the war and he somehow wakes up here.
“Figures.”
